Day 1
Woke up at 10am to prepare my bags and everything. Left my house around 1230 and headed to Habourfront for our ferry. We left the harbour around 3.30pm and headed off to Batam!

In the ferry
Batam is 40mins away from Singapore, so it isn't very far off. However, Batam time is 1hour behind Singapore time, so when we arrived in Batam, the time is still 3.30pm there. So after alighting, we head straight off to our resort, Holiday Inn, to check in. Holiday Inn is a good place for people/families who wishes to get away from the busy city life to relax.

Enjoying Breakfast
Went back to our room after breakfast to rest before we start our activities for that day.
A shot before heading out
So we wanted to play go-kart first, but it's like $18SGD for 10mins. So most of them objected and we started our day playing the cable-ski. The cable-ski in Batam is considered cheap compared to Singapore. It's $20SGD for 1 hours. However, they do have a day's package at $90SGD inclusive of ferry tickets and lunch. And the best part was, I met Marcus Quek, my secondary school classmate there! Haven't seen him in ages and yet, I met him in Batam. Small world after all. I played for an hour while Marcus was there on the day's package. Picture time!

And while we are playing, Leonard and Maria's mum were scandalous. Just kidding.
After the cable ski, I bid Marcus farewell and headed to our next destination, Harris Resort. For those who wants lots of activities in Batam, I recommend Harris Resort. They have almost everything near by, and the cable ski is just opposite the resort. They have lots of activities there including paintball, go-kart, archery and even mini-motor cycles! We ended up playing pool, bowling and had foot massage at Harris Resort.

After everything, we went back to our resort for dinner. Had chinese al la carte buffet and we ordered like mad. And guess how much was it? About $25 per person. Damn worth it if you're a big eater like me.

Our food
We spent 2 hours there before heading back to our room for the night.
Day 3
It rained after breakfast, which spoiled our day. Was suppose to head to town for some shopping, but the road looks like it's flooding and ended up spending our day in the resort playing cards and board games.

Had dinner at the same place and we ate till we almost puked. Went back to our room to pack our things as we are leaving the next day.
Day 4
Woke up late today, because we planned to have Tim Sum buffet for breakfast. The food wasn't as good as during dinner time though.
Waiting for the food
Food arrived!

So that was how I spent my 4 days in Batam.
Learning points:
- Use SGD to pay, don't need to change to rupiah
- Holiday Inn Resort - for those who want slack and eat buffet
- Harris Resort - for those who want activities and fun
Will surely go back to Batam to have some fun. Other pictures can be found here.
